I'll be honest, I have never successfully linked glibc statically into my binaries

When I want a statically linked libc I'll just use musl

@PeterCxy glibc is actually deliberately designed for dynamic link only, static link is explicitly unsupported.

@niconiconi yeah, I just saw someone on my timeline saying that some Go libraries may pull in a statically linked glibc, and I was pretty confused because I was never able to do so in any language

@PeterCxy I believe they used to say to not do that anyway.

I tried that before and while it did produce statically linked binary according to file command, the compiler actually warn it requires runtime shared libraries from glibc
